Shanghai Foreign Talent Visa Reform Briefing
Amcham Shanghai invites you to an afternoon briefing on the Shanghai Foreign Talent Visa Reform on Friday, January 13 from 13:30-15:30 at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center from Ms. Zhu Yinghua (祝颖华), Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Department, Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau/Shanghai Foreign Experts Affairs Bureau.
In September 2016, China's State Administration of Foreign Expert Affairs issued a new regulation on the work permit management of foreign talents in China. According to the regulation, ten cities and provinces, including Shanghai, will carry out a pilot program that will simplify and improve the management of visas for foreigners working in China. The regulation establishes a tiered system for visa applicants in which top talents will be in category A, mid-level talents will be placed in category B, and ordinary talents will be in category C. Category A applicants will have more simplified visa application process and other benefits. The Shanghai Foreign Expert Affairs Bureau/Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau is in charge of this program. Related information on this regulation can be found through the links provided below:
